Collaboration Problem Solving:
When stakeholders engage in a process where they view potential solutions through the lens of each others' interests, anything is possible.
PDSA Consulting provides training in interaction styles and the process to support a truly collaborative approach to problem solving.
Whereas the traditional approach takes an "us vs. them," "either/or" world view, the collaborative approach is made powerful when people feel safe to share their trust, deepest needs, fears, and concerns about the issues.
This forms a basis of trust and helps crystallize the lens and allows everyone at the table to move toward a common solution to mutual problems.
PDSA Consulting has provided this strategic service to organizations for internal issues - to help them uncover competing aims/interests and create common goals (and the methods to reach them!).
We also provided strategic advice and facilitation for Puget Sound Energy's successful Baker River Relicensing process. PDSA Consulting ensured the diverse interests of stakeholders (local, state, and federal representatives as well as NGOs) were met throughout the course of drafting a settlement agreement.
